Charleston Battery forward Randi Patterson scored in the 85th minute to lift Charleston over the Montreal Impact in a closely fought game Wednesday night at Blackbaud Stadium. The game looked to be headed to a draw but Patterson pounced on a loose ball in the box after a scramble and blasted a shot past Montreal goalkeeper Matt Jordan.

The Seattle Sounders ended their 190-minute scoreless streak on Wednesday night. And it took a defender to do it. But a Rochester defender likewise ended his team’s long scoreless streak -- one which stretched to 450 minutes over the first five games of the season. As a result, the Sounders wound up having to settle for a 1-1 tie with the Rhinos in their USL-1 season debut at Starfire Sports Complex.

The Minnesota Thunder announced today that the team has signed an agreement with the National Sports Center (NSC) to help expand NSC Stadium at the complex in Blaine, where it will play its home games effective immediately. The next home game will be Saturday, May 24, at 7:35 pm against Miami.
