TAMPA, FL – United Soccer Leagues announced Monday its USL First and Second Division Teams of the Week for the 11th week of the season, honoring David Testo of Vancouver and Pittsburgh’s Cody Bragg as the USL First and Second Division Players of the Week, respectively.

Vancouver cemented the spot at the top of the USL First Division table with a commanding 3-0 victory over visiting rival Portland.

The Whitecaps took the lead early after Joey Gjertsen found David Testo open in midfield. Testo controlled the ball, beat his defender, then lobbed the ball over diving Timbers goalkeeper Josh Saunders to take the 1-0 lead.

The Whitecaps doubled their advantage in the 63rd minute after Steve Kindel got the ball on the left wing. Kindel brought the ball upfield and crossed it into the box. Testo was lurking just six yards from goal and he headed the ball home for his third of the season to put the Whitecaps up 2-0 as they rolled to the victory.

The Pittsburgh Riverhounds took a nice bump up the USL Second Division table with a pair of wins on the weekend, moving to within a point of fourth place and the playoff zone. Cody Bragg led the charge as they downed visiting Harrisburg and Cincinnati by the same 2-0 scoreline.

Bragg opened the weekend finding David Flavius five minutes into the match Friday for the opening strike and helped lead the team in its shutout of a resurging City Islanders squad.

The following night, Bragg helped lead the team to a shutout of Cincinnati while also setting up the offense. He connected with Gabe Bernstein nine minutes in for the early lead and set up Greg Victor a minute into the second half for an insurance tally, giving him three assists on the weekend along with a pair of shutouts.
