CARY, NC -- The Carolina RailHawks hosted Mexican First Division Rayados de Monterrey in an international exhibition presented by Futbol Tecate and sponsored by Cricket, Blue Cross Blue Shield of North Carolina, NC Rail and Golden Corral.
The RailHawks kept Monterrey scoreless for 90 minutes and only lost in penalty kicks after a match full of energy and opportunities on both sides. Over 7,000 fans descended on WakeMed Soccer Park to catch a glimpse of soccer superstars Jared Borgetti and Humberto Suazo and were treated to an exceptional show by both teams.
The RailHawks will be on the road for their next two league matches as they travel to Portland on July 24 and Vancouver on July 26. They return home to host the Vancouver Whitecaps on Friday August 1 at WakeMed Soccer Park at 8:00 p.m. in the second of four nationally televised games. Tickets for this and all RailHawks events are available at the LGFCU Box Office, by calling 919-859-KICK, at all Ticketmaster outlets or by visiting www.carolinarailhawks.com.
