The Charlotte Eagles announced the signings of Jacob Coggins and Chris Lemons today, pending USSF approval. The two are reunited with Hall of Fame Coach Mark Steffens in 2009 after spending the 2008 season in the USL First Division with the Carolina RailHawks.

Battery sign veterans Antoniuk, Buete
The Charleston Battery has agreed to terms with forward Dan Antoniuk and midfielder Scott Buete for the 2009 USL First Division season pending USSF approval. Antoniuk joins the Battery after spending 2008 with the Carolina RailHawks. A native of Philadelphia, PA, Antoniuk has scored 30 goals in 136 games played. Buete comes to the Battery after playing the last three seasons with the Atlanta Silverbacks.

The Portland Timbers today announced the club has signed Japanese defender Takuro Nishimura for the 2009 season pending league and USSF approval. Nishimura has been on trial with the club since the start of preseason training camp.
